The Scene International Event Team recently attended The Special Event EXPO 2010 in New Orleans. Although the team has over 40 years of experience in the field of corporate and social events, they were ever keen to learn more about what’s happening on the cutting edge of event planning, and to add new materials and ideas to their already extensive resources. The team reviewed many unique vendors on the Trade Show floor, and attended educational sessions on a wide variety of subjects. On returning to New York, the team is looking forward to implement many-a new idea in their upcoming events.

Invitations in the form of a cruise boarding pass were sent to the over 500 employees for this exciting fun-filled happening. Apart from the dinner-dance, guests were entertained by Paco the Parrot (a remote controlled bird with an attitude), Hawaiian Musicians, Henna Tattoos, Hair Braiding, Simulated Surfing, a full-scale Luau Stage Show and more. The event was an unqualified success and a great time was had by all.

Scene International started a tradition for the “Town & Country” store in Piermont by setting up a display of exquisite, and different, tabletop settings at the start of every month. We have now completed seven settings and we will soon be sending out an email with thumbnails of each setting for your enjoyment.
These table settings will not only showcase beautiful and pleasing wares, but will demonstrate how unique table settings can be created in the home for different occasions. Visitors are invited to come, see, learn, copy and/or buy at Town & Country in Piermont, New York. This month’s offering is an all black-and-red Valentine’s Day romantic layout.
Table setting today has become such an art it has spawned a new name: “Tablescaping.” Elaborate decorative elements are incorporated into formal table settings that can reflect the theme of the occasion and the type of food. It is a practice that has been developing for more than a thousand years–the history of table setting goes back before the medieval era. Town & Country will try to display some of these elements in its “Exquisite Table Settings” program.

Over the period of the past 10 years, Scene International’s design department has created some 24 newsletters for the Clarkstown Community Task Force – all pro bono. The task force reaches out to the public in general, and parents in particular, with important information about preventing children and youth from falling prey to the likes of underage drinking alcohol, drugs abuse, cigarette smoking and tobacco use, bullies, and the like.

The task force has gone far in reducing the debilitating and often disastrous effects of the above addictions, afflictions, and advents. Included in the newsletters are many articles written by the youth themselves, as well as local personages such as judges, doctors, lawyers, social workers and many more.
