The Event Expo 2010
The Scene International Event Team will be attending The Special Event EXPO 2010 in New Orleans. Although the team has over 40 years of experience in the field of corporate and social events, they are ever keen to learn more about what’s happening on the cutting edge of event planning, and to add new materials and ideas to their already extensive resources.
South Sea Island Corporate Event
For January 22, 2010 Scene International has planned a large-scale corporate event as a dinner/dance with the theme of the “South Sea Islands” at one of New York City’s largest hotels. Invitations in the form of a cruise boarding pass were sent to the over 500 employees for the exiting fun-filled happening. Apart from the dinner dance, guests will be entertained by Paco the Parrot (a remote controlled bird with a definite attitude), Hawaiian Musicians, Henna Tattoos, Hair Braiding, Simulated Surfing, and much more
Proposed Events for Suffolk Health Plan in Suffolk County, NY
February, 2010
Scene International is implementing a series of special, promotional events for Suffolk County - sponsored by Suffolk Health Plan in the fight against childhood obesity. The events are designed to create an acute, though positive awareness of the obesity problem – encouraging both parents and kids to take the necessary steps to either lose weight, or maintain a healthy body mass.
Much excitement has been generated about these events – so please watch this space for more information as the project fall into place one-by-one during the course of February and March, 2010.
Mann Foundation Awards Dinners
Scene International has, for the past four years, designed, planned, and executed an “Awards Presentation” dinner for the Mann Foundation – raising funds for Alzheimer’s Research at Mount Sinai Hospital. Styled along the approach of the Academy Awards, the event is attended by the top executives and staff of New York’s Fashion, Real Estate, and Finance industries. These events have taken place at some of New York’s premier locations including: Gotham Hall, The Copacabana, and 583 Park Avenue. This year the event was backed by the New York based and renown Gerrard Carelli and his Orchestra
Designer Showcase for Meals on Wheels
Scene International created the master event breakout plan for the recent Meals on Wheels designer showcase house located in Grandview, Rockland County, New York. Nine top interior designers were chosen to style this 10,000 square foot house – each talking a different room to stage. After a launch event for celebrities and dignitaries, the house was opened to the public for a period of two weeks. The event succeeded beyond expectation, and all concerned – including the fund raising efforts of Meals on Wheels – enjoyed the fruits of a positive accomplishment
JCC Women’s Health and Wellness Symposium
Scene International designed and installed the stage décor and background for the JCC Women’s Health and Wellness Symposium which recently took place at JCC Headquarters in West Nyack, Rockland County, New York. With fabric styling and delightful female mannequin characters, it was a befitting background to both sessions, as well as the keynote speaker, Joan London.
Sock Hop
Scene International has planned and executed five annual outdoor Sock Hop events (with a sixth on its way this June) at the popular Flywheel Park in Piermont, Rockland County, New York. Included were 50’s décor and entertainment, vintage cars, car-hop rollerblade service and Elvis dancing and costume competitions. This annual master event, in aid of the American Cancer Society, brings fun and joy to hundreds of attendees every year. The event is sponsored by Boondocks, Piermont’s Town & Country (The Mole Hole), and The Flywheel Creamery.
Junk Sculpture
Bring together a group of artistic kids and their parents, hundreds of pieces of junk, recyclables, brick-a-brack, and scrap items; build them a template in the form of a giant 9-foot robot-man or flower, and you have the makings of an extraordinary event. Under the art direction of Lisa Grubb – international artist and sculptor - these talented kids put together Junk Statues that the town was proud to leave on display for over two weeks. Local television and press covered the event which was also attended by local politicians.
Department of Health
Scene International, winner of the bid to be the representative advertising and marketing agency for the Rockland County Department of Health, has, since its commencement of the contract, organized and arranged multiple campaigns and projects for the department. These include The Mayor’s Challenge; Special Luncheons and gatherings; advertising campaigns for the Steps to a Healthier NY and Steps to a Healthier Rockland County; Cancer Institute; Tobacco Free Initiatives; Young Lungs at Play Program; Asthma Initiatives; Diabetes Initiative; Industry and work place initiatives; Restaurant Campaigns, maps brochures, and collateral materials; School initiative and collateral materials including banners, stickers, brochures, and leaflets; Walking programs, and initiatives including Trail Trackers with the Rockland Forestry and Parks department; The Walk It! Campaign with the Palisades Center (Mall); Public relations campaigns, and media events.
Corporate Events
Scene International has planned, developed and executed multiple corporate events from closed-door top management meetings to large-scale corporate motivational and entertainment/party events. These have taken place in hotels (from the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan to The Garden City Hotel in Long Island) as well as many New York Catering and entertainment establishments including: Dezerland; The Copacabana; Babalu; Wallace Hall; Webster Hall; and many more. These events have included across-the-board entertainment and themed activities such as: Casino Events; Mardi Gras; Circus; Western; more – as well as entertainment personages such as: Wacky Wendy; Jake; Paco; Samba Nova; Miri (violinist); Jersey Boys; among others.
